Luxembourg and Korea sign bilateral Working Holiday Program Agreement

The Working Holiday Program Agreement between the Republic of Korea and Luxembourg entered into force on September 2, 2024. South Korean citizens aged between 18 and 35 interested in discovering Luxembourg’s touristic and cultural richness while having the opportunity to engage in temporary work to supplement their travel budget now have the opportunity to live, study, and temporarily work in Luxembourg for up to one year. The agreement was signed by H.E. Mr. Xavier Bettel, Minister of foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Luxembourg and H.E. Mr. Tae-yul Cho, Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Korea on July 3, 2024.

The program will accept 100 participants per year. The Working Holiday visa consists in a type D visa with multiple entries issued for a maximum duration of 12 months. During its period of validity, the long-stay visa is equivalent to a Schengen visa allowing its beneficiary to travel within the Schengen area under the same conditions as a Schengen visa.
